Paralegal | Axinn
The Tone:
This is a full-time, non-exempt position at Axinn, available in its DC, NY, or CT offices with a hybrid remote work schedule requiring at least three days in-office per week. Axinn is a legal firm specializing in antitrust, intellectual property, and high-stakes litigation, committed to understanding complex legal challenges for clients across technology, healthcare, life sciences, and consumer products. This role is crucial for providing practice-specific legal support to the litigation group, ensuring efficient case management, document handling, and research necessary to support attorneys through all phases of litigation.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Research & Compilation: Conduct factual and legal research, compiling results in an organized manner.
• Court Filings: Prepare court filings including proofreading, cite-checking, and compilation of declarations, exhibits, appendices, and ToAs, performing electronic filing in various courts and agencies.
• Case Management: Maintain case calendars with firm docketing software and manage litigation/case files, including document organization, retrieval, production, and Bates labeling.
• Discovery Support: Assist with complex discovery projects, including document review and production, deposition preparation, and privilege logs, with an emphasis on e-discovery platforms.
• Trial & Communication Support: Provide necessary support during trial/hearing preparation and manage communications and document transmission with outside counsel, court/agency staff, and vendors.
The Must-Haves
• Background: BA/BS degree required with core domain knowledge in litigation support.
• Experience: 2-4 years of relevant experience preferred; previous trial experience required; prior experience as a Litigation Paralegal preferred.
• Skills: Strong computer skills including proficiency in MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, web-based research, and various document management tools; ability to quickly learn new software.
• Bonus: Prior knowledge of Westlaw, Lexis, Relativity, iConnect, Opus; excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written); effective time management and prioritization skills; self-motivated with the ability to work independently within a team environment; exceptional critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
