Paralegal | Lewis Brisbois

This paralegal position is crucial for supporting a minimum of four attorneys, ensuring efficient document management, and providing essential assistance throughout the litigation process, from discovery to trial preparation. The role contributes significantly to the firm’s legal services and client success.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Attorney Support: Work directly for a minimum of four attorneys, managing caseloads and providing dedicated legal assistance.
• Document Management: Oversee the review, creation, and organization of various legal documents throughout their lifecycle.
• Case Calendaring: Manage and maintain attorney calendars, ensuring all critical deadlines and appointments are tracked.
• Discovery Compilation: Compile essential information for drafting and responding to discovery requests, interrogatories, pleadings, and motions.
• Trial Preparation: Actively assist with preparation for depositions and provide comprehensive support for trial proceedings.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Possess a Bachelor’s degree or a Paralegal Certificate. A certificate may be required depending on region, state, or client requirements.
• Experience: At least one (1) to five (5) years of direct litigation work experience, with an annual billable requirement of 1,600 hours.
• Skills: Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including strong Excel skills, along with excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication abilities. Must be capable of working under tight deadlines, prioritizing responsibilities effectively, and adapting to flexible and/or fluctuating work hours.
• Bonus: Some prior appellate experience is helpful for this position.
