What You’ll Actually Do
• Document Preparation: Prepare and organize legal documents, including forms, petitions, correspondence, and court filings, for immigration, family law, and estate planning cases.
• Case Management Logistics: Manage case files, maintain calendars and deadlines, and schedule appointments and hearings to ensure timely and organized case progression.
• Client and Agency Communication: Communicate with clients, government agencies, and courts, gathering necessary documentation and providing case status updates under attorney supervision.
• Office Administration: Perform general administrative duties such as answering phones, handling mail, and maintaining accurate office records to support smooth office operations.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Some college or relevant legal studies coursework; commitment to providing respectful, compassionate client service.
• Experience: Experience in administrative assistance, including calendar management, file organization, data entry, and general office support tasks.
• Skills: Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines, and proficiency with common office and case management software.
• Bonus: Paralegal certificate or relevant coursework in legal studies is preferred.
