Paralegal | Bond, Schoeneck & King PLLC

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Bond, Schoeneck & King PLLC, located in Albany, NY. The firm is comprised of 300 attorneys across more than 30 practice groups, dedicated to providing exceptional legal work and fostering a collegial work environment. This Paralegal position is crucial for supporting the Labor Department, ensuring the efficient handling of complex litigation and administrative matters through strong organizational and technical skills. What You’ll Actually Do
Manage Case Documentation: Organize and maintain all case-related documents, ensuring they are readily accessible for both litigation and administrative proceedings.
Handle Electronic Filings: Prepare, review, and electronically file a variety of legal documents, including notices of appearance, pleadings, motion papers, position statements, and supporting documents with relevant courts and administrative agencies.
Support Discovery and Hearings: Assist in the preparation of discovery documents such as notices of deposition and subpoenas, and compile comprehensive exhibits for trials and administrative hearings.
Monitor Deadlines and Dockets: Monitor court dockets, calendar dates, and filing deadlines, communicating critical dates and procedural requirements to assigned attorneys and clients.
Redact and Cite-Check Documents: Perform redactions on electronic documents (e.g., PDF, PPT, WORD) and conduct thorough cite checks on memoranda before they are filed with the court.

The Must-Haves
• Background: A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in labor relations, employment litigation, or human resources, coupled with a solid understanding of the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure, New York Civil Practice Law and Rules, and applicable procedures and deadlines.
• Experience: Demonstrated experience with electronic filing systems/portals for federal and state courts, the National Labor Relations Board, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, and the New York State Division of Human Rights, including the ability to redact electronic documents (PDF, PPT, WORD). Experience level is negotiable based on years of relevant experience.
• Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel; excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong organizational skills with the ability to manage a large volume of work, prioritize daily tasks, and interact effectively with clients; detail-oriented with strong research and technical skills.
• Bonus: Experience specifically within labor relations, employment litigation, or human resources is preferred.
