The Tone:
This is a Paralegal role supporting Arrow Search Partners’ client, a specialized asset manager. The Paralegal position is critical for upholding the firm’s rigorous, research-driven approach by ensuring comprehensive compliance with international regulatory standards, meticulously managing global fund documentation, and facilitating seamless distribution arrangements for its diverse investment products.
The TL;DR
• Role: Full Time
• Pay: $90000–$100000 yearly
• Mission: Oversee critical international regulatory compliance, fund documentation, and administrative support to enable global operations for a specialized asset manager.
What You’ll Actually Do
• External Legal Coordination: Manage and coordinate effectively with outside counsel and various consultants to successfully complete foreign fund registrations and establish intricate distribution arrangements globally. This involves detailed communication and project oversight to ensure all legal requirements are met for international market entry.
• Fund Document Management: Draft comprehensive fund offering documents, including all country-specific supplements, while meticulously overseeing version control and managing necessary translations for international markets. This critical function ensures accuracy and regulatory adherence across diverse linguistic and legal landscapes.
• Compliance & Due Diligence: Respond thoroughly and accurately to all due diligence inquiries and anti-money-laundering (AML) requests, upholding the firm’s commitment to stringent regulatory standards. This involves gathering, verifying, and presenting complex information to meet compliance obligations.
• Marketing Material Review: Conduct detailed reviews of marketing materials to ensure full compliance with multiple and often competing regulatory standards across different jurisdictions. This proactive step safeguards the firm from potential regulatory infractions and reputational risks.
• Administrative & Filing Support: Prepare, organize, and distribute electronic and printed board materials for quarterly meetings of foreign funds and international affiliates. This bullet also includes executing routine international regulatory filings accurately and overseeing comprehensive electronic and paper document management for all legal records.
The Must-Haves
• Background: A Bachelor’s degree is strictly required, forming the academic foundation for this role. Candidates must possess demonstrable exposure to fund, investment management, or regulatory environments, illustrating an initial understanding of the specialized asset management industry and its legal framework.
• Experience: This position mandates 2-4 years of dedicated paralegal experience, specifically gained within a law firm setting that focuses on corporate or finance clients. This requirement ensures a solid grounding in relevant legal practices and corporate governance.
• Skills: The ideal candidate will exhibit proven strong research capabilities, alongside exceptional oral communication, written communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. These are essential for effective coordination, precise documentation, and clear stakeholder engagement in a complex global environment.
• Bonus: Prior paralegal experience acquired within an international firm is considered a significant plus. Such experience indicates familiarity with the unique challenges and requirements of a global legal and regulatory context, adding immediate value to the team.
