The Tone:
This is a full-time, on-site opportunity at Cole, Scott & Kissane, an AV-rated litigation firm, located in the Fort Lauderdale East (Downtown) office. The firm is seeking an experienced Paralegal to provide essential support to one of its busy Insurance Defense Divisions. This role is crucial for managing civil litigation cases and requires collaborative work within the legal team and with external parties.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Record Management: Oversee the comprehensive management and organization of case records.
• Document Drafting: Draft discovery response shells and prepare other legal documents, memoranda, and reports.
• Legal Research: Conduct thorough case research utilizing both internet resources and local libraries.
• Case Analysis: Analyze billing material to evaluate evidence, identify issues, and prepare detailed case analyses.
• Expert Coordination: Identify and provide information regarding trial experts, then coordinate their deposition preparation.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Experienced Paralegal with prior civil litigation experience and a stable job tenure of two or more years in each position, along with a good attendance record.
• Experience: Extensive experience in researching, scheduling, drafting legal documents, follow-up/follow-through, and filing pleadings in state and federal courts. Must be familiar with L & A codes, billing software, and competent in timely time capture and billing according to guidelines.
• Skills: Strong organizational skills, the ability to multi-task effectively under pressure, excellent written and verbal communication skills, meticulous attention to detail, and strong problem-solving abilities.
• Bonus: Experience in Medical Malpractice, General Liability, Employment Law, or Condominium Litigation issues.
