Paralegal | LA28 Olympic & Paralympic Games

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at LA28 Olympic & Paralympic Games, located in Los Angeles, CA. LA28 is an independent, non-profit, privately funded organizing committee on a singular mission to create an Olympic and Paralympic Games that celebrate Los Angeles, delivering an unparalleled experience for athletes, fans, partners, and the community. This Paralegal position is an integral part of the legal team, crucial for ensuring timely and scalable delivery of operational contracts and supporting the organization’s compliance efforts as it gears up for the 2028 Games.

• Team: Reports to an Associate General Counsel within the legal team.
• Mission: Own timely and scalable delivery of operational contracts and manage compliance and employment-related legal documentation for the organization.
• Tech Stack: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Smartsheet (a plus), contract management systems

What You’ll Actually Do
• Legal Documents: Track, draft, file, and maintain business entity documents related to state registration, charitable status, and tax.
• Compliance Systems: Create and maintain compliance tracking systems, records, and training, and provide support materials.
• Contract Management: Serve as drafter and reviewer of various operational contracts for the purchase of services and/or products related to pre-Games, Games time, and post-Games events and deliverables.
• Dispute Resolution: Participate in the dispute resolution management team for employment and data privacy matters, including handling document review.
• Internal Liaison: Serve as the liaison between department heads and the legal team, identifying internal business needs requiring specialized contractual elements.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience, with a focus on legal support and compliance.
• Experience: 3+ years of experience as a paralegal or legal assistant, preferably in a large law firm or corporate in-house legal department, including experience working with contract management systems.
• Skills: Concise grammatical skills, excellent oral and written communication, exceptional research and organizational skills, and proficiency in Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
• Bonus: Paralegal certification, Smartsheet experience.
