Paralegal, Operations Legal | AbbVie
The Tone:
This is a role at AbbVie. This Paralegal role supports the Operations Legal team by managing a wide range of commercial and operational legal matters, directly contributing to the company’s compliance and operational efficiency.

• Mission: Manage commercial and operational legal matters by drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and administering various agreements.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Draft, review, and negotiate various commercial agreements, including CDAs/NDAs, real estate, vendor, supplier, and professional services contracts.
• Identify and resolve routine legal issues within the area of responsibility by developing and implementing effective solutions.
• Plan and prepare for meetings with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring departmental files comply with corporate and government regulations.
• Assist in process improvement and resource development to meet the current and future needs of the Legal department.
• Execute legal projects, collaborating with attorneys, business stakeholders, and other legal support staff as assigned.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s Degree and/or ABA approved Paralegal Certificate, with a foundational understanding of rules, procedures, and institutions for interpreting and enforcing laws in their area of expertise.
• Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience gained within a law firm or the legal department of a corporation.
• Skills: Advanced communication skills for effectively gathering information and negotiating; strong writing and analytical skills for legal document preparation; strong organizational, interpersonal, project management, and multitasking skills to manage priorities and meet deadlines; foundational problem-solving skills to identify, analyze, and propose solutions for routine issues.
• Bonus: Preferably with respect to the pharmaceutical industry; ability to learn new systems as needed.
