Litigation Paralegal | MG+M The Law Firm

The Tone:
This is a full-time, hybrid role at MG+M The Law Firm, located in New York, NY. MG+M is a nationally renowned litigation firm specializing in complex civil matters such as toxic tort, complex product liability, local government, general liability, and commercial litigation. The firm fosters a collaborative, unified team environment, integrating efforts with clients to advance their interests across all business operations. This role is pivotal in managing multifaceted litigation, providing critical support to attorneys and trial teams, and ensuring the firm consistently delivers optimal results and value to its clientele.

• Mission: To manage multiple complex litigation matters and provide comprehensive administrative, case management, and trial preparation support, directly contributing to the firm’s goal of delivering optimal client results and value.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel), Westlaw, PACER, File & Serve Xpress

What You’ll Actually Do
• Manage: Oversee multiple complex litigation matters concurrently, ensuring timely progression and adherence to legal processes.
• Prepare: Assist with comprehensive trial preparation, including logistics, administrative case management, expert retention, and client communication.
• Monitor & Assess: Monitor case filings, review discovery documents, and compose detailed case assessments and evaluations for attorney review.
• Draft: Prepare initial drafts of pre-trial motions, dispositive motions, motions in limine, and other essential pre-trial pleadings.
• Support Trials: Attend trials to provide direct, hands-on assistance to the trial team with all related matters, ensuring smooth proceedings.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Possess a Bachelor’s Degree and/or an accredited Paralegal Certificate, demonstrating foundational knowledge for litigation support.
• Experience: A minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in managing and supporting complex litigation matters.
• Skills:
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel) and legal research/e-filing platforms including Westlaw, PACER, and File & Serve Xpress.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills to effectively draft legal documents and interact with attorneys, clients, and colleagues.
• Demonstrated strong organizational abilities, attention to detail, and the capacity to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a demanding legal environment.
• Capability to work independently, manage multiple responsibilities, and exhibit strong problem-solving skills.
• Bonus: Direct experience with Asbestos/Toxic Tort defense litigation and proficient calendaring skills.
