Paralegal | Toshiba International Corporation

The Tone:
This is an in-person role for a Paralegal, supporting the in-house Legal team at Toshiba International Corporation. What You’ll Actually Do
Legal Document Preparation & Research: Provide comprehensive paralegal support across various practice areas including contracts, litigation, corporate governance, compliance, intellectual property, and licensing. This involves preparing, proofreading, and assembling critical legal documents such as contracts, legal correspondence, discovery materials, and memoranda, in addition to conducting basic legal and factual research.
Records Management & Compliance Assurance: Maintain and meticulously organize legal files, databases, and document management systems in strict accordance with company policies and confidentiality requirements. Coordinate all aspects of records retention processes, including applying retention schedules, supporting legal holds, and facilitating the proper disposition of records to ensure regulatory and internal policy compliance.
Corporate Governance & Regulatory Filings: Coordinate all necessary licensing, registrations, and compliance filings across various jurisdictions by diligently tracking deadlines and preparing accurate submissions. This also includes maintaining all corporate governance records, such as entity records, minute books, and governance databases, to ensure ongoing compliance.
Legal Operations & Process Enhancement: Support broader legal department initiatives, focusing on process improvements and special projects aimed at increasing efficiency. This involves tracking tasks, timelines, and deliverables to ensure timely execution of projects and actively identifying opportunities to streamline legal workflows.
Administrative & Inquiries Management: Provide essential administrative support to the legal team, including managing incoming legal requests by triaging and routing inquiries appropriately. Responsibilities also extend to scheduling, coordinating meetings, maintaining shared resources, and assisting with invoice and expense processing as needed.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Associate degree required with 4–6 years of paralegal experience in a law firm or corporate legal department, focusing on contracts, compliance, or litigation matters.
• Experience: 4–6 years of experience supporting contracts, compliance, and/or litigation matters, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (SharePoint), Adobe Acrobat, and legal research tools like LexisNexis.
• Skills: Strong organizational and analytical skills with high attention to detail, excellent written and verbal communication, and the ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
• Bonus: Experience with records retention, corporate governance administration, licensing, and regulatory compliance filings; a Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-approved program; or bilingual capabilities (Japanese or Spanish).
