Paralegal | Lawyers for Justice, P.C.®

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Lawyers for Justice, P.C.®, located in the Los Angeles area. The firm is a recognized powerhouse in plaintiff’s side wage-and-hour class action litigation, actively prosecuting consumer and employment class and representative actions in both federal and state courts across California. With a robust caseload against regional, national, and Fortune 500 companies, Lawyers for Justice has recovered over one billion dollars for hundreds of thousands of employees and consumers. This Paralegal position is critical for providing essential clerical and research support, directly enabling attorneys to manage a large number of active cases and continue the firm’s mission of advocating for justice.

What You’ll Actually Do
Legal Document Drafting: Draft routine legal documents such as pleadings, motions, affidavits, and interrogatories, ensuring accurate filing according to judicial procedures.
Legal Research & Analysis: Research and analyze statutes, regulations, legal articles, and judicial decisions, then provide comprehensive written analysis to attorneys.
Client & Witness Interaction: Conduct interviews with clients and witnesses to gather information and prepare detailed summaries of their statements for case development.
Case File Management: Prepare, organize, store, and retrieve all case files, including evidence, exhibits, depositions, and pleadings, often utilizing a computerized database.
Discovery & Trial Support: Prepare discovery requests and responses, and provide comprehensive assistance to attorneys for trial preparation, including attending trials and hearings.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Certification as a Paralegal. Understanding of legal language, principles, research methods, and court pleadings and processes.
• Experience: At least 5 years of experience in paralegal duties is preferred, involving document preparation, client interaction, legal research, discovery, and trial support.
• Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication, strong organizational skills with attention to detail, and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Bonus: A Bachelor’s degree.
