Paralegal I | Yardi
The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Yardi, located in Santa Barbara, CA. Yardi is a property technology company with over 10,000 employees globally, dedicated to developing real estate software products for over 40 years. This role is central to the legal team’s operations, ensuring the business runs smoothly by supporting in-house attorneys and outside counsel. You will manage litigation, investigations, discovery, and critical deadlines, ensuring all legal files, data, and holds are organized and on track. • Mission: Owns the organization and tracking of litigation, investigations, discovery, and legal deadlines for the legal department.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Litigation Support: Partner with in-house attorneys to support litigation, subpoenas, and discovery, ensuring all matters are handled in accordance with established internal processes and procedures.
• Case Management: Perform factual investigations for new legal matters, accurately calendar and update crucial deadlines, coordinate legal holds, conduct factual research, and assist with data identification and assembly projects.
• Regulatory Monitoring: Monitor Westlaw alerts, industry and trade-group email alerts, and other external information services to track regulatory developments impacting Yardi’s business operations.
• Legal Request Processing: Assist with processing external data security inquiries, non-disclosure agreement requests, certificate of insurance requests, and client and vendor contract review and management.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree or paralegal certification, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience: Prior relevant work experience as a corporate or law firm paralegal.
• Skills: Demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft® Word, Outlook, Excel, and SharePoint for daily tasks and document management. Possess strong research skills and clear, concise oral and written communication skills for effective legal correspondence and investigation. Exhibit excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize, manage time effectively, and multitask in a deadline-driven environment. Capable of working independently on projects while also contributing effectively as a team member, with accountability for project completion.
• Bonus: Current Notary Public appointment or willingness to obtain; basic contract review and analysis experience; advanced Microsoft® Office Suite, Office365, and SharePoint experience; advanced Adobe® Acrobat Pro experience.
