The Tone:
This is a temporary internship at A Igreja de Jesus Cristo dos Santos dos Últimos Dias, located in Salt Lake City, UT (Hybrid). The Church of Jesus Cristo of Latter-day Saints is a multinational organization that supports global church membership through diverse operations including media, humanitarian efforts, temples, family history, construction, real estate, retail, higher education, hospitality, investments, and insurance. This internship within the Auditing Department plays a vital role in evaluating risks and controls across Church-affiliated companies to ensure proper order and protect Church assets, ultimately contributing to the Lord’s work. It provides a professional environment that prioritizes balancing family, Church, and personal time with work responsibilities.

• Team: Auditing Department; reports to supervising staff and manager.
• Mission: Evaluate risks and controls throughout Church affiliated companies in an effort to give assurance to management that they are in proper order and help protect assets of the Church.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Assess Church Operations: Audit the operations, controls, and financial statements of a multinational Church organization, including affiliated not-for-profit and for-profit entities across various sectors.
• Support Management Assurance: Evaluate risks and controls throughout Church affiliated companies to provide assurance to management that operations are in proper order and help protect Church assets.
• Collaborate on Solutions: Actively work in teams to collaborate and devise the best possible solutions for clients, fostering camaraderie in a connected environment.
• Manage Assignments: Receive assignments from supervising staff, take direction, and meet rigid and challenging deadlines with full attention to detail.
• Travel and Network: Participate in opportunities for domestic and international travel to audit global Church operations and grow your network by associating with management at Church headquarters and operations worldwide.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently enrolled in an educational institution or within one year following graduation, with 3+ years of college coursework as an accounting or data science major.
• Experience: Available to travel as part of the internship and focused on enhancing and optimizing Church entities.
• Skills: Strong analytical skills; excellent written communication and presentation skills; sound judgment of Church doctrine, history, organization, policy, and protocol.
• Bonus: Master of Accountancy candidates preferred. Must be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and currently temple worthy.
