This is a full-time role at Central Transport, located in Aurora, IL. • Team: Manages a team of up to 30 local LTL drivers and dock personnel.
• Mission: Oversee outbound operations to ensure designated production schedules are met and facility Key Performance Indicator goals are achieved.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Oversee Operations: Direct outbound operations within a designated section of a 50-door cross-dock freight facility.
• Manage Team: Lead a team of up to 30 local LTL drivers and dock personnel to achieve designated production schedules.
• Optimize Loading: Utilize independent judgment to build loads based on available labor and freight levels, monitoring the cube and weight of trailers for proper carrier loading.
• Monitor Performance: Track dock production to ensure facility Key Performance Indicator goals are met or exceeded, and monitor hours and overtime.
• Ensure Compliance: Maintain a safe work environment compliant with state and federal DOT/OSHA standards and ensure company operational model compliance.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Experience in a transportation, cross docking, or shipping and receiving environment, preferably within the LTL industry.
• Experience: Demonstrated strong leadership qualities; Familiarity with customs and cross-border transportation; High aptitude for technology.
• Skills: Ability to multi-task effectively while maintaining a strong detail orientation; Excellent written and verbal communication skills; A strong desire to provide customers with excellence in service.
• Bonus: An associate or bachelor’s Degree, preferred but not required.
