Job Description:

This is an internship position within the Operational Technology (OT) Engineering group at BD in Sandy, UT. The intern will support the engineering team by contributing to various projects related to OT asset management, network mapping, data validation, and dashboard development. The intern will gain hands-on experience and training, preparing them for a potential career in the field.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in organizing and categorizing OT assets by mapping IP addresses, MAC addresses, and VLANs to physical and logical asset groupings.
• Contribute to the design and development of a network-based site map.
• Validate and refine asset inventory data, tagging assets with appropriate business, location, and functional metadata.
• Assist with testing and validation of Apriso MES upgrade.
• Support the OT team with collecting, cleaning, and preparing spreadsheet data for Power BI Dashboard development and Tenable.OT.
• Assist in updating or creating new Power BI dashboards using AVEVA Historian.
• Document procedures for asset categorization, network mapping, and dashboard creation.
• Comply with all safety and quality regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Enrolled in an accredited undergraduate or graduate engineering program with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
• Must be able to work year-round, with a minimum of 30 hours per week in the Summer and 15-20 hours per week during the school year.
• Must be able to commute to the BD Sandy, UT office.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Students in their Sophomore or Junior year preferred.
• Preferred majors are Information Systems, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
• Familiar with IP networking concepts (subnets, VLANs, routing).
• Exposure to Power BI, SQL, or data analytics tools is desirable.
• Basic understanding of OT/ICS environments is a plus.
• Programming languages (C#, Python, C++).
