Organizational Development Summer Intern

About the Internship

At H.W. Kaufman Group, we are seeking motivated and analytical undergraduate students for a high-impact 12-week paid summer internship within our Organizational Development (OD) team. This unique opportunity will immerse you in real-world projects that are critical to shaping our talent development, onboarding processes, leadership growth, and performance analytics across a global specialty insurance organization.

You will have the chance to apply OD concepts to meaningful business challenges, directly contributing to programs that accelerate the growth of our producers and associates, all while significantly developing your own professional skills. Our program is designed to enhance your business acumen, communication, and leadership capabilities through hands-on experience.

This internship requires a commitment of 40 hours per week, structured with four days in our office setting and one day remote. Interns will also benefit from invaluable opportunities to learn from and network with executive leadership and fellow interns across various departments.

Key Responsibilities

As an OD Summer Intern, you will be integral to various strategic initiatives, including:

  • Actively supporting and developing career progression initiatives tailored for our dynamic production workforce.
  • Contributing to the creation and refinement of business continuity plans designed to protect our vital books of business.
  • Engaging in initiatives aimed at upskilling our salesforce through the development of corporate training programs and individualized learning resources.
  • Ensuring the seamless execution and success of corporate OD events, adopting an all-hands-on-deck approach.
  • Refreshing and enhancing existing training and development materials, bringing creative ideas and updated content to the forefront.
  • Assisting senior leaders in high-level decision-making by meticulously organizing data, preparing comprehensive reports, and submitting insightful analyses. This includes collaborative efforts to build and maintain new performance dashboards and define crucial Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and metrics.

Qualifications

We are looking for candidates who meet the following criteria:

  • Currently enrolled as an undergraduate student at an accredited university.
  • Actively pursuing a degree in Organizational Development, Human Resources, Risk Management & Insurance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Expected graduation date of December 2026 or May 2027.
  • Demonstrated technical proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Possesses strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an ability to interpret data effectively.
  • Exhibits clear communication skills and a highly collaborative approach to teamwork.
  • Driven by a proactive mindset and a genuine eagerness to learn and contribute.
  • Previous internship experience is preferred, demonstrating an initial understanding of professional work environments.
  • Familiarity with HR or OD concepts and data tools is a plus, but not strictly required.
