Job Description:
This is a role at a Walmart Optical center, offering patient care and sales.
• Supports Optical care and services: Obtains measurements, verifies, determines, and dispenses prescriptions; counsels, consults with, and educates Customers; assists with eyewear selection; and maintains confidential information.
• Provides optical clinical care: Diagnoses Customers to manage treatment of visual problems and ocular disease; providing effective patient education and counseling; and communicating with key stakeholders (for example, Optometrist, Clinic Staff) to increase understanding of optometric standards under the guidance of Associate Doctor of Optometry.
• Maintains the Optical area: Handles claims and returns, ensures operations align with Company and regulatory standards (HIPAA), and maintains a safe work environment.
• Maintains merchandise presentation: Stocks and rotates merchandise, removes damaged items, zones the area, arranges displays, identifies shrink, prices merchandise, and secures items.
• Receives and stocks merchandise: Organizes and maintains the Optical Area by following Company procedures, utilizing equipment appropriately, merchandising, and completing and retaining required paperwork, logs, and other documentation.
• Sells Optical products and services: Assists Customers with purchasing decisions, measures, adjusts, and repairs frames and lenses, completes eyewear/contact lens orders, identifies and verifies prescription information, completes and maintains paperwork, forms, and other required documentation, collecting payments for doctor services, and performing and recording results of optometric pre-tests.

Pay: $15.00-$32.00/hour (actual rate depends on location). Additional compensation includes annual/quarterly performance bonuses and potentially a Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) adjustment.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Enrolled in an accredited Optometry school.
