Operations – Supply Chain Internship Program

This 12-week paid internship program is designed for emerging sophomores, juniors, and seniors interested in a career in the global powersports industry.

Key Program Features:

Impactful Project-Based Assignments: Interns are directly involved in projects that align with business objectives.
Real-World Experience: Exposure to various supply chain functions, including:
• Supplier Development
• Purchasing
• Sourcing
• Materials
• Logistics
• NPI and/or Lean
• Supplier Quality
• Manufacturing Engineering and Quality
Value-Added Deliverables: Assignments contribute directly to the development of new Polaris products.
Networking Opportunities: Intentional programming for all interns including:
Mentorship: Pairing with a Polaris associate for support.
Intern Programming: weekly functional and centralized learning sessions.
Networking: Intentional time with peers and leaders.
Intern Innovation Challenge: Collaborative teamwork to develop innovative solutions for an internal case study presented to executive leadership.
Early Talent Summit Super Week: Three-day event with professional development, networking, executive speakers, and a Polaris vehicle ride.
Community Engagement: Volunteering opportunities with fellow interns.
Final Presentations: Showcase internship experiences and career aspirations.
Potential for Full-Time Employment: Exceptional performance and passion for learning can lead to a returning internship or a full-time position.

Intern Responsibilities (Examples):

• Manage quality, cost, delivery, and logistics with Purchasing and Materials.
• Forecast cost, volume, compatibility, and quality of future packing methods.
• Optimize utilization of assets for global material movement.
• Analyze and evaluate manufacturing methods and standards.
• Develop and update process documentation and procedure instructions.
• Support lean initiatives and continuous improvement projects.
• Assist with supplier assessments, corrective actions, or price negotiations.
• Support manufacturing or product engineering teams with quality and warranty issues.

Program Timeline:

• Applications Open: September – December 2024
• Interview Process: MS TEAMS panel interview with HR and functional leader.
• Intern Matching: Spring 2025 – Matching interns to roles/projects based on skills, interests, and survey data.
• Internship Dates:
• May 19th – August 8th, 2025
• June 2nd – August 22nd, 2025

Relocation Assistance:

• Offered to qualifying interns who live 35 miles or more from the work location.
• Includes a lump sum payment, relocation counselor support, and access to short-term housing.

Required Qualifications:

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in:
• Supply Chain
• Manufacturing Engineering
• Industrial Engineering
• Mechanical Engineering
• Applied Engineering Sciences
• Operations
• Or a related field.
• Intended graduation date between December 2024 and May 2027.
• Minimum overall GPA of 3.0.
• Full 12-week commitment (40 hours per week).
• Geographic willingness to participate in the intern matching process.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, interpersonal, self-motivation, and leadership skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office software (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams, Word).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous internship/co-op experience.
• Leadership experience in work, organizations, or classrooms.
• Completion of at least two years of university coursework.
