Operations Summer Internship Program Overview
This intensive 10-week summer internship offers a unique opportunity to apply your academic knowledge and fresh perspective to real-world challenges within JBS Foods. Key Responsibilities
As an Operations Intern, you will actively contribute to our operations team through various tasks and learning experiences, including:
• Providing direct support to the operations team on daily tasks and ongoing projects.
• Learning about effective and efficient operational practices within a strong culture of continuous improvement.
• Shadowing to understand how to maintain production practices that robustly support the facility’s food safety program.
• Gaining experience in monitoring product quality and production operations to consistently meet and exceed customer expectations.
• Understanding the principles of creating an inclusive environment where all team members are active and involved participants in the business.
• Recognizing and celebrating team and individual successes to foster a positive work environment.
• Challenging individuals to achieve their full potential, surpassing self-imposed limitations.
• Shadowing supervisors to learn how to identify problems or bottlenecks in production processes and effectively resolve issues. This includes ensuring all production resources (materials, equipment, human resources) are available as needed to maintain production schedules and supporting continuous improvement goals across safety, quality, cost, and customer service.
• Developing and implementing a tangible solution to a specific problem or bottleneck identified within the operations department.
• Building meaningful relationships with hourly team members to foster collaboration and understanding.
• Shadowing production supervisors to gain insights into their day-to-day operations and responsibilities.
• Learning the basics of how to anticipate and determine the causes of delays in shift operations, and taking appropriate actions to meet production schedules.
• Successfully completing and presenting a project focused on addressing specific issues within the operations department, demonstrating your analytical and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications
To be considered for this internship, candidates must meet the following criteria:
• Currently enrolled in a four-year university or actively pursuing a bachelor’s degree.
• A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher.
• Physical ability to lift 50 lbs. or more.

Compensation & Program Details
The successful applicant for this position will be eligible for the following compensation structure:
• $21/hour
• A $2,500 relocation stipend to support your move for the internship.

Pre-employment Requirements & Company Commitment
The Company is dedicated to ensuring a safe and secure environment for our team members and visitors. To assist in achieving that goal, we conduct a drug, alcohol, and background checks for all new team members post-offer and prior to the start of employment. The Immigration Reform and Control Act requires that verification of employment eligibility be documented for all new employees by the end of the third day of work.
