Key Responsibilities & Learning Opportunities
As an Operations Summer Intern, you will play a supportive role within our operations team, gaining hands-on experience and valuable insights into the intricacies of large-scale food production. Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing direct support to the operations team, contributing to daily workflows and strategic initiatives.
- Actively learning about effective and efficient operational practices within a culture dedicated to continuous improvement.
- Shadowing experienced professionals to understand how to maintain robust production practices that uphold our stringent food safety programs.
- Gaining firsthand experience in monitoring product quality and production operations to consistently meet and exceed customer expectations.
- Understanding the critical elements involved in fostering an environment where all team members are active, engaged, and invested in the business.
- Learning to recognize and celebrate successes within the team, building morale and fostering a positive work environment.

- Shadowing production supervisors to comprehend their day-to-day operations, responsibilities, and decision-making processes.
- Developing an understanding of how to identify and resolve problems or bottlenecks in production processes.
- Learning to ensure that essential production resources – including materials, equipment, and human capital – are readily available to maintain production schedules.
- Actively contributing to continuous improvement goals across safety, quality, cost, and customer service metrics.
- Gaining practical experience in implementing solutions to address identified operational issues or bottlenecks.
- Building strong, collaborative relationships with hourly team members across various departments.
- Acquiring foundational knowledge in how to anticipate and determine causes of delays in shift operations, and taking appropriate actions to meet demanding production schedules.
- Completing and presenting a capstone project focused on an identified operational issue or improvement opportunity within the department, with real-world implications.

Qualifications
We are seeking enthusiastic and driven individuals who meet the following criteria:
- Currently enrolled in a four-year university or actively pursuing a bachelor’s degree.
- Possess a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher.
- Ability to physically lift 50 lbs. or more as required by operational tasks.
Compensation & Benefits
The successful applicant for this position will receive competitive compensation and support:
- Hourly Rate: $21 per hour.
- Relocation Stipend: A $2,500 relocation stipend to support your move for the internship.
