Job Description: 2025 Operations Summer Analyst Program (New York)
Position Summary:
The Operations division at Morgan Stanley plays a crucial role in the firm’s success, supporting and settling millions of transactions daily. The division is responsible for:
• Transaction Processing: Efficiently handling the complex process of supporting and settling a vast number of transactions.
• Risk Management: Devising and implementing robust controls to mitigate operational risk.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensuring adherence to all relevant regulatory requirements.
• Client Relationships: Building strong relationships with clients to provide exceptional service.
• Innovation: Collaborating with business partners to develop new technologies, businesses, and markets.
The Program:
This 10-week Summer Analyst Program, starting in June, offers a comprehensive introduction to Operations at Morgan Stanley. It provides:
• Exposure: A broad understanding of various functions within Operations and the broader financial services industry.
• Hands-On Learning: Intensive on-the-job training and a group project to gain practical experience.
• Leadership Engagement: Opportunities to interact with senior management within Operations.
• Immersive Experience: A schedule filled with trainings, speaker series, networking events, and educational sessions to fully immerse participants in Operations and the firm’s culture.
Role and Responsibilities:
Summer Analysts will contribute to the Operations team by:
• Process Improvement: Collaborating with various teams to evaluate and improve processes for greater efficiency.
• Client Service: Partnering with business units and Technology to deliver exceptional client service across various areas such as trade capture, clearance and settlement, account opening, cash management, billing, tax reporting, and fraud monitoring.
• Technology Integration: Partnering with Technology to design, manage, and implement business process changes to streamline processes, enhance productivity, and optimize operational efficiency.
• Risk Mitigation: Proactively identifying and mitigating operational risk while ensuring compliance with global regulatory requirements.
• Client Relationships: Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients to deliver world-class operational services.
Qualifications and Skills:
• Academics: Minimum GPA of 3.0 and pursuing an undergraduate degree with a graduation date between December 2025 and June 2026. All majors are welcome to apply.
• Skills: Excellent leadership, analytical, and communication skills. Ability to work effectively as part of a team. Strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and discretion in handling sensitive information. Exceptional time management and multitasking abilities. Problem-solving skills with a focus on streamlining processes in a fast-paced environment. Positive attitude, proactive approach, and a strong work ethic.
Eligibility:
Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States and should not require sponsorship for employment visa status.
Compensation:
The expected base pay rate for the role is $31.25 per hour at the start of employment. The total compensation package may also include other Morgan Stanley benefits, depending on the specific position.
