The Tone:
This is a full-time, in-person role at Central Transport, a long-standing LTL (Less-than-Truckload) carrier. • Pay: $65000–$80000 yearly + up to 10% in bonuses
• Team: Leads a team of up to 30 local LTL drivers and dock personnel
• Mission: To oversee inbound terminal operations, manage personnel, and optimize freight handling to meet production schedules and service standards.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Oversee Inbound Operations: Direct all inbound operations for a designated section of the terminal dock, including unloading, managing forklift traffic, and ensuring proper picking/sortation of palletized freight.
• Manage Personnel: Provide leadership and accountability to a team of up to 30 local LTL drivers and dock personnel, guiding them to achieve designated production schedules.
• Optimize Load Building: Utilize independent judgment to construct efficient loads for carriers, considering available labor, freight levels, and monitoring the cube and weight of trailers.
• Ensure Compliance & Safety: Maintain a safe work environment in adherence to state and federal DOT/OSHA standards, and ensure full compliance with the company’s operational model.
• Drive Performance: Monitor dock production and employee hours, providing leadership and accountability to ensure facility Key Performance Indicator goals are met and/or exceeded.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Management experience, preferably in transportation operations, with a thorough understanding of the LTL trucking industry.
• Experience: Prior management, dispatch, and dock experience, preferably within the LTL trucking industry. Must have strong leadership skills, including the ability to hire, coach, counsel, train, and mentor employees.
• Skills: Excellent written, listening, and verbal communication skills; a high aptitude for technology; and the ability to multi-task while being detail-oriented and working under tight time constraints in a high-pressure environment for an average of 50 hours/week, including nights and/or weekends and in any weather condition.
• Bonus: An Associate or Bachelor’s degree.
