Job Description: Operations Management Associate

This is a 6-12 month training role designed to prepare individuals to lead diverse teams as plant Operations Supervisors. The program provides support and guidance to help participants develop their careers within Cargill. The fast-paced plant environment emphasizes collaboration and a commitment to feeding the world. The role’s impact is felt through contributions to feeding families and communities.

Training Path: The training program is adaptable to individual interests and business needs. Potential areas of focus include:

Operations: Direct involvement in plant operations.
Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Leadership: Focus on safety and environmental compliance.
Engineering/Maintenance: Working with plant equipment and maintenance.
Accounting: Financial aspects of plant operations.
Continuous Improvement: Implementing process improvements.
Human Resources/Talent Management/Employee Relations: Developing and managing teams.

Work Environment: The role is based in a protein facility, requiring adaptability to varying temperatures (hot, cold, wet), and potentially messy conditions. Work schedules may include varying shifts (8-10 hours), 6-day weeks, and occasional weekend and on-call duties to meet customer demands.

Required Qualifications:

Candidates must meet *at least one• of the following:

• Pursuing post-secondary education (any subject) and graduating between May 2022 and May 2025.
• Achieved at least the rank of Master Corporal (or equivalent) in the Canadian Forces.
• Four years of relevant experience (operational, mechanical, and/or leadership).

Additional requirements include:

• Legal authorization to work in Canada.
• Ability to work effectively with diverse individuals.
• Willingness to relocate.
• English language proficiency (verbal and written).
• Willingness to work 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts and weekends (occasionally).

Preferred Qualifications:

Candidates with degrees or coursework in agriculture, business, or engineering are preferred (e.g., Animal Science, Ag-Economics, Ag-Business, etc.).
