Job Description: Operations Internship

This internship offers opportunities to work on projects of significant strategic and/or operational importance to the business. Specific responsibilities may include:

• Partnering with leadership to identify and address areas for improvement in efficiency and benchmarking against industry best practices.
• Becoming a process owner, critically reviewing processes with attention to detail, and proactively recommending improvements.
• Utilizing specialized equipment and instrumentation accurately with limited supervision.
• Developing tools and models to enhance tracking and efficiency.
• Learning continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., PPI, Six Sigma) and promoting improvement initiatives.
• Collaborating with various functions (program management, engineering, manufacturing, quality assurance, and finance) to achieve business objectives.

The internship is 10-12 weeks long, starting either May 12th or June 16th, 2025, depending on student availability. Undergraduate students pursuing an Engineering-related degree (graduating between December 2025 and June 2026) are eligible. While prior internship experience is preferred, it’s not required. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a consistent track record of results, integrity, innovation, involvement, and intensity. They should be enthusiastic about driving change, achieving results, and navigating ambiguity, along with possessing excellent interpersonal communication skills and high emotional intelligence.

The hourly pay range is $21.50-$28.75, depending on location (aligned with cost-of-living guidelines). A $5,000 relocation stipend is available for students living more than 50 miles from the internship location. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship. Thermo Fisher does not sponsor F-1, J-1, H-1, OPT, or CPT visas for this position.
