Job Description: Operations Intern

The Operations Intern position at Susquehanna involves contributing to the critical infrastructure that ensures trades move forward with speed and accuracy. The Operations team is responsible for aggregating and analyzing trading data to inform future decisions, correcting any trade breaks that could expose the firm to financial risk, and constantly improving the efficiency of the trade lifecycle.

Role and Responsibilities:
As an Operations Intern, you will engage in a ten-week internship program, working in close collaboration with trading desks and other support teams vital to the trading businesses. Your role will involve:
• Managing the underlying infrastructure that facilitates daily trades.
• Aggregating and analyzing trading data to support decision-making.
• Identifying and correcting trade breaks to mitigate financial risk.
• Contributing to the continuous improvement of trade lifecycle efficiency.
• Undertaking a variety of analytical projects that impact multiple areas of the business and address current industry challenges. Past projects have included trading and profit & loss analytics, automation of operational processes, and research into new business opportunities.

• A foundation of curiosity and a desire to grow and make a significant impact on Susquehanna’s business.
• Students pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Finance, Math, Computer Science, or a related major, with the intention to graduate within one year of the internship program.
Advanced knowledge of Excel is required, with a preference for candidates who also have experience with Python, HTML, VBA, or SQL.
• The ability to collaborate effectively within a team while possessing the confidence to work independently.
• An entrepreneurial spirit, coupled with flexibility and a commitment to innovation.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
