About the Job

Simplot Grower Solutions Summer Operations Internships involve working directly with retail locations and production plant operations. After a week of training and orientation, each Intern will be paired with a seasoned Location Manager mentor. Interns will assist their mentors as well as other locations in the area in their daily activities. Opportunities to attend educational field days and meetings are common during the summer and interns are encouraged to attend. Interaction with growers is an integral aspect of a retail location and interns will often be a part of that interaction.

Key Responsibilities

• AgSync digital dispatch system
• Scheduling application appointments
• Inventory management
• Shipping and Receiving
• Product processing
• Simplot’s software system is used daily, and interns will be involved in using the program
• Interns are given a specific challenging task that are required to be fulfilled by the end of the summer

Typical Education

• Must be enrolled in an accredited university/college or have graduated no more than 6 months prior to start of internship
• Major in Agriculture, Agribusiness, Agronomy, Crop Science, Agriculture Precision Technology, Systems Management or other related major

Relevant Experience

• A farm background or farm experience is preferred but not required
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 50lbs
• Motivated and detail oriented
• Experience with computers, specifically MicroSoft Office Suite
• Effective communicator
• Class A CDL highly preferred

Required Certifications

• Valid driver’s license

Other Information

• Ability and willingness to work Ag Industry hours:  early morning/late evening, some weekends and overtime when needed
• Duration:  May – Aug 2024
• School of Agriculture is preferred but not an absolute requirement
• Relocation assistance is available as well as assistance in securing summer housing
