About the Operations Intern Role:

The Operations Intern will provide critical support to field operations leadership and various corporate departments. This involves assisting with the coordination, planning, and implementation of projects, programs, and tests that directly impact field operations. This role is instrumental in ensuring alignment with Love’s strategic priorities.

Key Job Functions:

  • Assist with managing projects, programs, and test rollouts to the field, actively working to prevent conflicts and ensure smooth execution.
  • Provide support to the Operations team and other corporate departments during project planning and development phases.
  • Gain exposure to and learn about communication efforts designed to ensure all impacted departments are well-informed of upcoming projects or initiatives with significant impact.
  • Support change management efforts by championing change and helping to provide adequate resources for successful change management processes.
  • Assist with the ongoing maintenance and updates of Operations manuals and guidelines.
  • Receive exposure to analytical and briefing support provided to the Operations team.
  • Travel to nearby locations as needed for evaluating processes and procedures related to assigned projects.
  • Participate in classroom training modules to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Experience multiple business operations firsthand to gain a comprehensive understanding of the company.
  • Assist with special projects and events as needed, demonstrating flexibility and initiative.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related field.
  • Previous retail management internship experience with Love’s Travel Stops is preferred.
  • Relevant coursework and/or additional internship experience is considered a significant plus.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Typical Physical Demands:

  • Prolonged sitting with occasional bending and stooping.
  • Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds.
  • Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator.
  • Normal hearing and vision range required.
