Colorado TU Operations Manager | Trout Unlimited
The Tone:
This is a full-time hybrid role at Trout Unlimited, located in Colorado with a strong preference for the Front Range and access to the Denver office. Trout Unlimited works to conserve trout and their watersheds, and this position is critical for supporting the day-to-day operations and logistics of these conservation efforts. The Operations Manager will play a vital role within a small team, ensuring efficient functioning across financial management, data systems, and event coordination. This role helps to achieve river conservation goals by ensuring the smooth operation of essential support functions.

What You’ll Actually Do
• CRM Oversight: Manage customer relationship management systems and processes, including membership import, donor data entry, and automations.
• Financial Coordination: Coordinate financial operations by collecting and delivering information for review with contract bookkeeping services and the Finance Committee.
• Event Support: Provide operational and logistics support for core Colorado TU and chapter events such as Rendezvous, Gala, and Troutfest Colorado.
• Donor Communications: Coordinate basic donor communications and automations, including renewal letters, tax receipts, and assistance with direct mail campaigns.
• General Inquiries: Handle and direct general inquiries from chapters and others as the first point of contact, escalating to other team members as appropriate.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Minimum qualification: A college degree or direct experience relevant to business and non-profit operations. Career level: Early Career.
• Experience: Familiarity with database management and operations. Familiarity with basic bookkeeping and accounting practices.
• Skills: Strong organization skills and attention to detail. Ability to work with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and comfort with learning new digital tools. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work well in small team settings. Ability to effectively communicate and engage with volunteers. Dedicated commitment to conservation.
• Bonus: Direct experience with Bloomerang and QuickBooks.
