Operational Finance Intern | Comfort Systems USA

The Tone:
This is an in-person internship at Comfort Systems USA, located in the Greater Houston area, with its TAS division. Comfort Systems USA, through its TAS division, specializes in engineering and manufacturing innovative packaged modular systems for data centers, power, and commercial/industrial utility applications. This role is crucial for supporting the daily financial operations of the Operations Finance team, ensuring accuracy and compliance in corporate accounting processes. The intern will gain hands-on experience, apply academic knowledge, and develop practical skills within a professional operations environment.

• Mission: Support daily financial operations, ensuring data accuracy and compliance within corporate accounting processes.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Accounting Operations: Assist with day-to-day accounting activities, including performing data entry and conducting account reconciliations.
• Record Maintenance: Prepare and meticulously maintain financial records, various spreadsheets, and all necessary supporting documentation.
• General Ledger Support: Help review, analyze, and reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure their accuracy.
• Month-End Activities: Provide essential support during month-end closing procedures and activities.
• Data Verification: Verify the accuracy of financial data by identifying and addressing any discrepancies found.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level position; currently enrolled and actively pursuing an Accounting-related degree.
• Experience: Demonstrated experience working effectively as a member of a team.
• Skills: Proficiency in using Microsoft Word, proficiency in using Microsoft Excel, ability to perform basic analysis of financial data, and adherence to confidentiality and internal control procedures.
