What You’ll Actually Do
• Instruct: Deliver comprehensive online instruction on fundamental thermodynamic laws, energy conservation, entropy, enthalpy, Gibbs free energy, and the properties of mixtures.
• Explain: Clarify complex concepts such as Carnot efficiency, Maxwell relations, and chemical equilibrium thermodynamics, guiding students through advanced physics and engineering coursework.
• Mentor: Coach students in systematic problem-solving, including breaking down energy balance equations, performing entropy generation calculations, and analyzing power cycles.
• Guide: Support students in solving open and closed system problems, analyzing Rankine and Brayton cycles, interpreting temperature-entropy diagrams, and calculating work and heat transfer.
• Personalize: Adapt teaching methods to individual learning styles, identify concepts students commonly struggle with, and provide either scheduled 1-on-1 or instant on-demand tutoring.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Advanced subject mastery in thermodynamics, encompassing fundamental laws, properties, cycles, and chemical equilibrium, relevant to engineering and advanced physics curricula.
• Experience: Proven ability to teach complex thermodynamic concepts and guide students through problem-solving and analysis in mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, and advanced physics coursework.
• Skills:
• Deep knowledge of thermodynamic laws, energy conservation, entropy, enthalpy, Gibbs free energy, heat engines, refrigeration cycles, and phase diagrams.
• Expertise in breaking down energy balance equations, entropy generation calculations, and power cycle analysis.
• Capability to adapt instructional methods using thermodynamic property tables, cycle diagrams, and step-by-step energy balance frameworks.
• Strong communication skills and a friendly, engaging teaching style.
