What We Look For In a PANCE Tutor

• Advanced Test Mastery: Possess deep and comprehensive knowledge of all PANCE content areas, including but not limited to: cardiovascular, pulmonary, gastrointestinal, musculoskeletal, neurological, endocrine, reproductive, renal, hematologic, dermatologic, EENT, infectious disease, and psychiatric systems. You should be adept at explaining clinical presentation patterns, guiding students through diagnostic workup selection, and detailing treatment protocols to prepare physician assistant graduates for initial certification and clinical practice.
• Strategic Test-Taking & Problem-Solving: Be skilled at teaching critical strategies for PANCE, such as clinical vignette analysis, constructing differential diagnoses, and selecting appropriate treatments. Guide students effectively through interpreting patient histories and physical findings, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, selecting first-line treatments, and recognizing emergency presentations. Emphasize system-based review and high-yield clinical associations for frequently tested conditions and their management.
• Curriculum Awareness & Adaptive Instruction: Demonstrate familiarity with the PANCE content blueprint and common challenges faced by students, such as the complexity of cardiovascular and pulmonary systems, the breadth of pharmacology, and distinguishing similar clinical presentations. Adapt instruction effectively using NCCPA practice examinations, system-based review materials, and clinical case analysis to support physician assistant graduates preparing for their initial PANCE certification.
• Effective Teaching Methods: Ability to identify concepts students commonly struggle with, explain material using multiple approaches, and adapt instruction to meet individual learning needs and styles.
• Strong Communication Skills: Possess excellent communication skills and a friendly, engaging teaching style that fosters a positive learning environment.
• Adaptability: Be highly adaptable to different learning styles and student needs, ensuring personalized and effective instruction.
