This position is vital for helping students develop fundamental Mac computer skills, directly contributing to their academic success and fostering a deeper understanding and comfort with Apple’s ecosystem. As a tutor, you will play a significant role in empowering students to achieve their learning goals and build lasting proficiency with Mac computers.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Deliver: Conduct personalized 1-on-1 online tutoring and accept on-demand instant tutoring requests to teach basic Mac computer skills.
• Educate: Instruct students on macOS navigation, Finder file management, System Preferences, Safari browsing, Mail application, and iCloud integration.
• Guide: Lead students through understanding basic productivity apps, screenshot tools, Mac-specific keyboard shortcuts, and Apple ecosystem features.
• Prepare: Equip students for effective use of Mac computers in their personal, academic, and professional environments, connecting skills to real-world applications.
• Support: Utilize the AI-powered Tutor Copilot for real-time instructional assistance, lesson generation, and engagement features to enhance teaching impact.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Possess deep knowledge of macOS navigation, including Finder file management, System Preferences, Safari browsing, Mail application, iCloud integration, and basic productivity apps. This includes familiarity with screenshot tools and Mac-specific keyboard shortcuts.
• Experience: Demonstrated ability to explain macOS interface elements, Spotlight search, and the broader Apple ecosystem features. Candidates should be skilled at guiding students through tasks like Dock and Launchpad usage, and understanding iCloud syncing.
• Skills:
1. Expertly teach conceptual understanding of macOS interface elements and core applications like Notes, Pages, and Preview.
2. Proficient in adapting instruction to meet individual learning needs and styles, effectively guiding new Mac users, professionals, and seniors.
3. Strong communication skills with a friendly, engaging teaching style capable of explaining complex material using multiple approaches.
4. Capability to identify common student struggles, such as transitioning from Windows or managing iCloud storage, and provide targeted solutions.
