What You’ll Actually Do
• Teach Personalized Lessons: Provide tailored 1-on-1 online guitar tutoring, guiding students through various techniques and musical concepts from beginner to advanced levels.
• Develop Technical Proficiency: Instruct students on proper fretting, strumming, fingerpicking, chord voicings, and scale navigation, ensuring a strong foundation in guitar technique.
• Cultivate Musical Understanding: Teach music theory for guitar, including rhythm patterns, and ensure proficiency in reading both tablature and standard notation, preparing students for performances or auditions.
• Adapt Instruction: Customize teaching methods and materials, drawing from method books and popular song arrangements, to effectively address individual student needs and common learning challenges.
• Leverage Smart Tools: Utilize the AI-powered Tutor Copilot to enhance session engagement, generate lessons, and receive real-time instructional support, optimizing teaching efficiency and impact.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Possess a deep and advanced understanding of guitar technique, encompassing fretting, strumming, fingerpicking, chord voicings, various scales, and comprehensive music theory for guitar. Expertise should cover acoustic, electric, classical, and popular guitar styles.
• Experience: Proven ability to teach progressive guitar technique, facilitate smooth chord transitions, and cultivate musical expression. Familiarity with diverse guitar pedagogy methods and common challenges, such as developing finger strength or mastering barre chords, is essential. Candidates should be adept at preparing students for performance, auditions, and music coursework.
• Skills:
1. Exceptional ability to break down and clearly explain complex musical concepts like barre chords, pentatonic and modal scales, and intricate rhythm patterns.
2. Strong communication skills coupled with a friendly and engaging teaching style, capable of adapting instruction to meet individual learning styles and student needs.
3. Proficiency in identifying specific concepts students commonly struggle with and employing multiple approaches to clarify material effectively.
4. Capacity to connect guitar instruction to broader musical principles, including music theory, songwriting fundamentals, and practical ensemble performance considerations.
