What You’ll Actually Do
• Instruct: Provide personalized 1-on-1 online tutoring for college-level algebra, functions, graphs, trigonometry, introductory statistics, finite mathematics, linear programming, and mathematical modeling.
• Explain: Clearly explain quantitative reasoning, set theory, logic, and probability concepts to students.
• Guide: Lead students through interpreting data sets, constructing logical arguments, and solving optimization problems, emphasizing quantitative literacy and critical thinking.
• Adapt: Adjust instructional methods using real-world contexts, technology tools, and scaffolded problem sets to support adult learners and diverse mathematical backgrounds.
• Connect: Accept on-demand instant tutoring requests and provide scheduled one-on-one sessions to meet student needs.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Deep knowledge and mastery of college-level mathematics, including liberal arts math and quantitative reasoning curricula.
• Experience: Demonstrated ability to teach and break down complex mathematical concepts such as function analysis, statistical inference, and mathematical modeling for adult learners.
• Skills:
• Proficiency in explaining material using multiple approaches and adapting instruction to individual learning needs and styles.
• Capability to identify concepts students commonly struggle with and prepare them to meet general education math requirements.
• Strong communication skills with a friendly, engaging teaching style.
