Description

Starting Pay: $19.00 per hour

Internship Summary:

This position involves directing, coordinating, and evaluating assigned kitchen, food production, and food-service associates. The ideal candidate will be a recent or current graduate of a Culinary Arts program.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and participate in activities of cooks and other associates involved in preparing, cooking, and serving food.
• Ensure all food handling, sanitation, and customer service standards are met.
• Efficiently prepare high-quality food items according to standardized recipes, meeting production, delivery, and service schedules.
• Serve meals or prepare them for delivery.
• Ensure proper presentation, food quality, portion control, and maintenance of proper serving temperatures.
• Track food use, waste, and consumption to requisition or purchase products.
• Receive and inspect products and supplies for quality and quantity to ensure appropriate inventory.
• Maintain sanitation of equipment, supplies, and utensils.
• Clean workstation thoroughly before leaving the area.
• Keep display equipment clean and free of debris during meal service to ensure compliance with sanitation, safety, production, and merchandising requirements.
• Help select and develop recipes and menus.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Additional Intern Focus Areas:

• Rotational internship to cross-train in the following back-of-house areas:
Catering: Big event – Bulk food production
Purchasing: Warehouse – Food rotation
Premium: Chef table development and execution
Financial: Product cost month end inventory, managing budgets, data and analytics
