Job Description, Detailed
This job involves providing direct nursing care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN), adhering to the healthcare organization’s established policies, procedures, and protocols.
• Department: ED (Emergency Department)
• Schedule: PRN (as needed/per diem)
• Hospital: St. Vincent Salem
• Location: Salem, IN
Responsibilities:
• Complete assigned nursing orders as directed by a preceptor, including assisting patients with activities of daily living and taking vital signs.
• Observe patient status and responses, documenting and reporting observations to the preceptor or other appropriate staff.
• Assist the preceptor with the development of care plans by reporting test results and patient observations.
• Perform other assigned tasks, such as environmental services and preparing/transporting patients for diagnostic services.
Requirements:
• Licensure / Certification / Registration:
• BLS Provider certification obtained within 1 month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. Both American Heart Association or American Red Cross certifications are accepted.
• Education:
• High school diploma/GED required.
• Must be accepted or enrolled into a Nursing program upon date of hire/transfer.
• Must begin nursing classes within 90 days of the date of hire/transfer.
