Job Description

This is a Master’s internship or graduation assignment focused on Color Management within the field of production printing. The role involves applying mathematical principles to solve real-world problems related to color consistency.

The Challenge:

Developing an invertible mapping to linearize spectral reflectance measurement data with respect to CMYK tone values. This means finding a way to accurately predict the color resulting from different combinations of CMYK inks on various substrates.

Key Responsibilities:

Gaining Insights: Understanding the relationship between spectral reflectance and CMYK tone values.
Investigating Strategies: Developing and testing alternative strategies for linearizing spectral reflectance, potentially using numerical linear algebra, scientific computing, statistics, and data science.
Prototyping: Implementing these strategies using a prototyping language like Matlab or Python.
Academic Writing: Documenting your findings and research in a clear and concise manner.

What’s In It For You:

• A challenging assignment with skilled coaching
• Internship/Graduation compensation of €500,- per month
• Travel cost compensation if you don’t have an ‘OV-weekcard’
• The opportunity to network with professionals within and outside your field
• A chance to contribute to a company focused on collaboration, innovation, and ownership

Requirements:

• Master’s level student in (Applied) Mathematics
• Proficiency in a prototyping language like Matlab or Python
• Excellent English writing skills
• Ability to independently research and critique scientific literature
