Job Title: News & Politics Editorial Intern

Term: Fall 2025

Location: Remote (within the United States)

Job Summary:
Her Campus is seeking a creative, efficient, organized, and detail-oriented News & Politics Editorial Intern. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for journalism and hard news, demonstrating an awareness of current cultural conversations and topics relevant to college readers, including U.S. politics, academics, global and national issues, and viral news. This internship offers high-level tasks and significant responsibility, designed to build skills and provide experience in the media industry. It is available remotely.

Key Responsibilities (may include):
Writing and editing timely news articles.
• Working on larger editorial projects and packages.
Interviewing talent and expert sources.
• Creating and optimizing SEO and e-commerce content.
• Taking on writing assignments for the News, Digital, Life, Career, and other sections.
• Working on tight deadlines and turnarounds.

Qualifications:
To be eligible for this internship, candidates must meet the following criteria:
• Be a current college undergraduate with the ability to receive college credit (this is a mandatory requirement).
• Possess strong communication, organization, and strategic thinking skills.
• Be knowledgeable of all Google for Work tools.
• Demonstrate a hardworking, detail-oriented, efficient, and creative work ethic.
• Be passionate about the Her Campus mission and all things Gen Z.
• Be knowledgeable of culture and social commentary.
• Have a strong interest in writing, editing, research, college trends, and project management.
• Be interested in creating content around news, politics, academics, and trending topics.

Additional Information:
Nature of Internship: This is an unpaid internship, offered for school credit only.
Hours: Internships are available on a full-time or part-time basis, with flexible hours.
Visa Sponsorship: Her Campus Media does not offer visa sponsorship for this position. Applicants must have the legal right to work in the United States without sponsorship.
