Network Strategy Intern

As our Network Strategy Intern, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of how we collaborate with retailer partners to fulfill customer orders. This is a unique opportunity to support a prioritized strategic initiative, leading critical exploration, benchmarking, brainstorming, and cross-functional conversations to evaluate and size various options for evolving our fulfillment strategy.

In this role, you will significantly develop your skills in evaluating strategic and operational options, industry benchmarking, cross-functional collaboration, content creation, and meeting facilitation. You will also gain valuable exposure to diverse fulfillment models and various parts of the supply chain, fostering a deeper understanding of same-day delivery logistics and the competitive landscape. Furthermore, you will interact with a wide array of functional teams, including data science, product, operations, insights, and strategic innovation.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate Fulfillment Options: Analyze different fulfillment options, including their competitive and strategic implications, to drive cross-functional discussions and prioritize future capabilities.
• Data-Driven Analysis: Utilize a standard suite of tools (slides, spreadsheets), along with industry reports, news stories, and data systems like Tableau or SQL, to develop your point of view and accurately size the potential impact of various strategies.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Gain exposure to and collaborate with a variety of functional teams, including data science, product, operations, insights, and strategic innovation.
• Present Recommendations: By the end of the internship, you will present your comprehensive findings and strategic recommendations to a group of cross-functional leaders.

Skills and Qualifications

• Exceptional Communication: Demonstrated strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree or greater in Organization and Management, Mathematical Statistics, Mathematics and Statistics, or Quantitative Science.
• Relevant Experience: Demonstrated experience in supply chain management, shipping, warehousing, same-day-delivery, or similar related fields.
• Curious and Structured Approach: You are curious and structured, eager to evaluate a variety of options, and capable of constructing a clear, structured overview of their implications, benefits, and risks.
• Business Acumen & Analytical Mindset: Strong business acumen and an analytical mindset with the ability to identify key metrics and leverage data to support your strategies, programs, and ideas.
• Executive Communication: A strong comfort with translating complex insights into clear, executive-ready recommendations, along with the ability to present this information in a clear and structured manner.
• Team Player & Proactive: Possess a positive, collaborative team-player attitude coupled with a data-driven approach to problem-solving.
• Operational Understanding: A willingness to go out into stores or complete shopping routes to gain a better, hands-on understanding of how operations function.

Compensation

This position is expected to pay $24–$46 per hour.
