Job Description: Network Architecture Intern
This internship involves hands-on work in Netflix’s test lab, focusing on the development and execution of test plans for their network infrastructure. The intern will be responsible for:
• Testing Network Solutions: Actively designing, implementing, and documenting test procedures for the network backbone, corporate offices, creative production workflows, and data center networks. This includes testing both existing and proposed solutions.
• Test Execution and Documentation: Creating, executing, and meticulously documenting the results of testing procedures. Contributing to the refinement of the overall testing program for the network ecosystem.
• Collaboration: Working closely with experienced network professionals and cross-functional teams.
Requirements:
• Education: Currently pursuing a Graduate or PhD degree in Network Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field. Expected graduation date is around December 2025 or Spring/Summer 2026.
• Experience: Limited relevant work experience (prior internships are acceptable, but candidates with 3+ years of experience may not be considered).
• Technical Skills: Basic understanding of network and system design, networking protocols, and data structures and algorithms. SQL query language knowledge is required; experience with Distributed Systems, Statistical Modeling, Data Management, Data Visualization, and Network Security courses or equivalent experience is a plus. Proficiency in at least one programming language (Python, Go, or Java) is mandatory.
• Soft Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Preferred Qualifications (Nice-to-Haves):
• Experience with network infrastructure components (routers, switches, firewalls, optical transceivers).
• End-user support experience (helpdesk or NOC).
• Familiarity with network simulation tools.
• Experience in lab or data center environments.
• Knowledge of CDNs (DNS, traffic management, multi-host web servers, Host header/SNI).

Compensation: The internship is paid, with a minimum duration of 12 weeks, starting in May or June 2025. Compensation is competitive, with a market range of $40/hour – $80/hour, based on total compensation and factors such as location, specific job, skills, and experience. The internship will be located in either Los Gatos, CA, or Los Angeles, CA.
