Qualified Registered Nurse (RN) applicants are invited to consider an exciting intern position with Von Voigtlander Women’s Hospital (VVWH) 9 East and 9 West Birthing Center, as well as neonatal patients in the Brandon NICU on 8 West and the expansion unit (10 West). This role is designed for RNs who have graduated from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program with a Neonatal Specialty and wish to extend their Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) education.

Hourly range for Registered Nurses: $40.18 – $62.31/hour
Shift Differentials:
- Evening Shift Differential: $3.00 / hour
- Night Shift Differential: $4.00 / hour
- Day Shift Weekend Differential: $2.90 / hour
- Evening Shift Weekend Differential: $5.90 / hour
- Night Shift Weekend Differential: $6.90 / hour
- Charge Nurse Differential: $1.00 / hour

Responsibilities
All responsibilities are performed under the direct supervision of a licensed Neonatal Nurse Practitioner.
- Coordinate care of acutely ill neonates in the intensive care and acute care unit settings.
- Present pertinent data to the medical staff.
- Collect and interpret reports from diagnostic lab tests, radiographic procedures, and clinical studies.
- Confer with attending physicians and communicate with other care providers/consultants to coordinate clinical care.
- Streamline the patient transfer process between levels of care.
- Attend high-risk deliveries and assist with neonatal resuscitation activities.
- Once credentialed and privileged as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner, will perform procedures and order entry.
Expectations
NOTE: The Neonatal Nurse Practitioner internship requires a two-year commitment following completion of orientation. The selected candidate will practice as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner for 2 years in the C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital, Brandon Newborn Intensive Care Unit with no less than a 0.9-1.0 FTE appointment fraction.
Nursing Specific Info
This UMPNC RN posting is posted as Nursing Framework LEVEL C. Actual Nursing Framework LEVEL and salary will be determined at the time of hire. Nursing Framework levels range from Level A to Level F.
Required qualifications must be met by the candidate to be interviewed and considered for the position. The posting may be filled after the initial 5-day posting period. Required Qualifications
- Current licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Michigan.
- Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program with a Neonatal Specialty.
In order to be considered for this position, the applicant must have met or will have met all the required qualifications prior to the start date of employment.

Desired Qualifications
- Demonstrated excellent verbal communication skills.
- Ability to function under the direct supervision of a licensed NNP while assuring the medical care team is functioning smoothly and in collaboration with each other.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate clinical care ideas across multiple patient care services and to communicate as a patient advocate.
- Demonstrated experience with and knowledge of current medical, surgical, and pharmaceutical treatment modalities of the acute and chronically ill neonates.
Work Schedule
- Hours: 40 per week
