Mortgage Operations Academy Associate | Better

The Tone:
This is a full-time, remote role at Better, a company that is fundamentally rebuilding home finance as an AI-native platform. Better aims to transform a process that historically took weeks into something that can happen in mere seconds, leveraging over $110B in funded loans and $1.2B+ raised. This role is crucial for launching the next generation of mortgage professionals at NEO Home Loans, designed to build meaningful careers and contribute to creating exceptional customer experiences during one of the most significant moments in a person’s life.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Gain foundational knowledge: Get a comprehensive introduction to the mortgage industry, understanding how various aspects of the business, including Operations, customer experience, and workflow management, work together.
• Master mortgage fundamentals: Receive structured training on mortgage fundamentals, loan structure, and professional communication to build a solid base for a career in the field.
• Develop operational proficiency: Acquire practical skills in workflow and pipeline management, along with hands-on experience within Tinman, NEO’s proprietary loan origination platform.
• Practice real-world processes: Engage in real-world process training through “The NEO Way” and learn team collaboration strategies to deliver an exceptional borrower experience.
• Prepare for career placement: Build the essential foundation for a long-term career, with potential placement into roles such as Junior Loan Specialist or Production Partner upon successful program completion.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level career seeking, with a specific interest in learning the mortgage industry from the ground up.
• Experience: No prior mortgage experience is required; experience in customer service, hospitality, banking, finance, sales support, or operations is a plus.
• Skills: Strong work ethic, growth mindset, highly coachable, professional and confident communication, detail-orientation, organizational abilities, takes ownership, and comfortable learning new technology and systems quickly.
• Bonus: A Bachelor’s degree and 1-3 years of general professional experience.
