Description: National Sea Logistics Intern (12-month rotational internship)

This internship provides an opportunity to kick-start a career in freight forwarding and logistics. The role involves a 12-month rotation, offering exposure to various aspects of the business and supporting multiple industry leaders. The intern will assist the corporate management team with:

Process Improvements: Contributing to streamlining internal processes.
Reporting & Big Data Analytics: Analyzing data sources (e.g., using tools like Tableau, SAP, Alteryx) to identify opportunities for improvement across different teams. This includes supporting Trade Management, Customer Engagement and Events, and Systems and Processes teams in strategy development and execution.
Pricing & Rate Information: Providing pricing and rate information to internal teams, acting in a similar capacity to a rate desk function.
Market Research & Communication: Researching and communicating market conditions and future expectations to the Kuehne+Nagel US organization to inform pricing decisions and customer communication.
Carrier Strategy & Deal Management: Participating in meetings discussing carrier strategy, pricing policy, and individual/customer deals. Ensuring contracts are properly documented and adhered to.
Administrative Support & Reporting: Assisting with business tasks such as Executive Summaries, Business Objects (Power BI) reporting, news updates, and contract reviews.
Customer Engagement & Events: Supporting the planning and execution of industry seminars, providing administrative support, vendor setup, and learning Kuehne+Nagel’s vendor management systems.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Completed bachelor’s degree in economics, business, supply chain management, or a related field.
• Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel (PivotTables and VLookups).
• Experience with data management software (Tableau, SAP, Alteryx, or similar) is beneficial.
• Strong organizational, prioritization, attention-to-detail, and deadline-meeting skills.
• Ability to set milestones and achieve results.

The target hourly compensation is $21/hour. Interns are not eligible for full-time employee benefits.
