Job Description: Music Promotion Intern
This internship within TikTok’s Artist Partnership team focuses on leveraging the platform’s power to promote music. The intern will be involved in a variety of tasks, including:
• Music Discovery and Pipeline Management: Identifying songs worthy of promotional efforts and managing weekly pipelines to match songs with appropriate resources. This involves a strong understanding of current music trends.
• Campaign Development: Specifying campaign briefs and designing incentive plans to target specific creator segments based on campaign needs. This requires understanding of TikTok’s creator ecosystem and audience segmentation.
• Data Analysis and Insights: Collecting feedback and generating insights to inform product development for the music promotion platform and iterative improvements to algorithmic promotion strategies. This includes a good understanding of data analysis and product thinking.
• Trend Identification and Opportunity Exploration: Identifying and monitoring emerging music trends and exploring new promotional opportunities and use cases within TikTok’s ecosystem. This involves proactive exploration and a forward-thinking approach.
The ideal candidate will possess a passion for music and a deep understanding of TikTok as both a user and potential promotional vehicle. Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills are essential, along with the ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines. Experience with mainstream digital streaming platforms (like Spotify) is preferred. Cross-functional collaboration and excellent communication skills are also crucial.
