Description: Qualcomm Multimedia Engineering Intern
This internship offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge multimedia technologies within Qualcomm’s Snapdragon devices, which are used in billions of devices worldwide. The team focuses on system-level architecture, analysis, budgeting, and optimization of multimedia use cases to achieve the lowest power consumption and best performance. Interns will contribute to the development of power and performance-efficient devices. Specific technologies include: Camera, Video encoding/decoding, Audio, Speech, GPU, Modem, CPU, Application Processor, Multi-media engines, and Computer Vision. The ideal candidate possesses an educational background and/or experience in system-level architecture and HW/SW co-design. The internship is for 11-14 weeks during Summer 2025 (May-September).
Minimum Currently pursuings:
• Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s, master’s, or Ph.D. degree program in computer engineering, computer science, electrical engineering, or a related field.
• 1+ years of academic experience with programming languages such as C, C++, Python, etc.
• Availability for 11-14 weeks during Summer 2025 (May-September) with a graduation date of December 2025 or later.
Preferred Currently pursuings:
• Experience in Graphics (OpenCL, Compilers, Ray Tracing, GPU, Vulkan/DX)
• Experience in Computer Vision/XR (DNNs, motion, AR/XR, Depth, Linear Algebra, Perception)
• Experience in Imaging (Image/Video Segmentation, 3D, Pattern Recognition, Image/Video Processing)
• Experience in Speech/Audio (Acoustics, TTS/text-to-speech, Speech/Audio signal processing and compression)
• Experience in Video (Digital Signal Processing, Compression)
• Experience with Software Apps/Tools (Linear Algebra, AR, Perception, Oculus Air)
• Experience with Machine Learning (TensorFlow, PyTorch), Deep Learning, Neural Networks
• Strong understanding of Signal Processing
• Currently enrolled in a master’s or Ph.D. degree program
• Candidates actively pursuing a degree with an anticipated graduation within the upcoming year (Dec 2025 to June 2026) preferred.
