About the Job
This internship at the YAI Center for Specialty Therapy is designed for 2nd year MSW students seeking a clinical placement. You’ll be working alongside licensed clinicians, providing vital support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD).
Job Description:
• Clinical Experience: You’ll gain hands-on experience in conducting individual, collateral, and group psychotherapy to clients with I/DD across all age ranges. This will be done under the guidance and supervision of licensed clinicians.
• Documentation: You will be responsible for writing progress notes for each therapy session and developing treatment plans for each client you support.
• Supervision: Attendance is mandatory at:
• Weekly Group Supervision: Every Friday morning with the entire clinical team (virtual).
• Intern Supervision: Every Friday afternoon with fellow interns (virtual).
• Qualifications:
• Must be a 2nd year clinical MSW student.
• No prior clinical experience is required, but a genuine interest in working with individuals with I/DD is critical.
• Important Notes:
• This is an unpaid internship.
• The internship may be able to satisfy course credit if approved by the student’s institution of learning.
