About the Job

This internship is specifically designed for 2nd year MSW students pursuing a clinical placement. You will gain valuable experience at the YAI Center for Specialty Therapy, an organization dedicated to supporting people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD).

Job Description:

As an intern, you will work closely with licensed clinicians, providing psychotherapy services to clients with I/DD across all age groups. Your responsibilities will include:

• Conducting individual, collateral, and group psychotherapy sessions.
• Developing and implementing treatment plans for each client.
• Writing detailed and accurate progress notes for each session.
• Actively participating in weekly group supervision with the entire clinical team on Friday mornings (virtual and mandatory).
• Attending intern supervision meetings with fellow interns on Friday afternoons (virtual and mandatory).

While prior clinical experience is not required, a genuine interest in working with individuals with I/DD is essential. This internship is exclusively available to 2nd year clinical MSW students.

This is an unpaid internship that may be eligible for course credit, subject to approval from your academic institution.
