Market Development Manager | Generac Power Systems
The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Generac Power Systems, located remotely in the Southeast region, specifically NC, SC, GA, AL, FL, and TN. This high-impact position within the commercial & mobile channel is vital for developing and managing strategic relationships with independent mobile dealers, driving market penetration through detailed planning, and consistently achieving sales budgets while providing world-class customer support.

• Mission: Develop and manage strategic relationships with independent mobile dealers to achieve sales budgets and expand market penetration.
• Tech Stack: SAP, Sales Force (or equivalent CRM)
What You’ll Actually Do
• Identify and Close: Identify and close sales opportunities while proactively prospecting new business in accordance with strategic plans and financial objectives.
• Develop Market Plans: Analyze territory opportunities and customer needs to create and execute comprehensive market penetration plans.
• Build Key Relationships: Build and manage strategic relationships with key decision makers and support new promotional programs for the commercial & mobile channel.
• Provide Expertise and Support: Conduct sales presentations, provide technical product training, implement solution-based sales strategies, and deliver world-class customer support.
• Counter Competition: Provide reconnaissance of competitors’ influence and develop a strategic plan to counter their impact within the assigned territory, also filling Sales fundamental and channel specific training classes.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Experience: 1 year of related experience, including previous experience using SAP, Sales Force, or an equivalent CRM system.
• Skills: Analytical ability to understand key business metrics; self-motivated with the ability to work independently in a field-based role; proven ability to define complex problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions; ability to build strong interpersonal relationships and demonstrate effective negotiation skills; and exceptional time-management, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Bonus: Working knowledge of the OEM role in a 2-step distribution model. Previous trade experience in one or more of the following industries: renewables, utility, battery, solar, power generation, or installed equipment.
