MMIC Application Engineering Co-op

The Application Engineering team operates in a fast-paced environment, dedicated to solving technical problems for customers. This collaborative team focuses on acquiring laboratory data, analyzing information for customer needs, developing technical presentations, updating datasheets, publishing technical information online, and compiling essential data to support both customers and other MACOM internal teams.

Specific Co-op Tasks & Responsibilities:

A co-op will receive training and contribute to the team by assisting with the following:

  • Lab Measurement Techniques: Gaining hands-on experience with RF & Microwave devices, including the use of critical instruments such as network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, power meters, and other relevant lab equipment.
  • Data Processing: Utilizing advanced tools for data analysis, including Keysight ADS, Minitab, Python, MATLAB, and other specialized software.
  • Automated Lab Setups: Contributing to the development and maintenance of automated lab setups, which may involve assisting with Python automation scripts.
  • Customer Support: Looking up information within MACOM’s documentation system to provide answers to basic customer inquiries.
  • Cross-Functional Learning: Attending select design reviews to gain insights into the workings of cross-functional engineering teams.
  • Meeting Support: Assisting with details pertaining to customer meetings or specific requests.
