Job Description:
The Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) team at Amazon is seeking a passionate and talented ML Engineer to build customization capabilities for large language models (LLMs), such as fine-tuning and distillation. This role will involve leading the development of novel LLM training techniques and optimizations to advance the state of the art.
Key Responsibilities:
• Investigating and prototyping new LLM training techniques and designs.
• Evaluating the technical feasibility of different approaches.
• Collaborating closely with Applied Scientists to process data and scale machine learning models efficiently.
• Optimizing models for performance and reliability.
• Working within an Agile/Scrum environment to deliver high-quality software.
• Contributing to the design, architecture, reliability, and scaling of new and existing systems.

Basic Qualifications:
• 2+ years of experience in the design or architecture of new and existing systems (design patterns, reliability, and scaling).
• 3+ years of professional software development experience (non-internship).

Preferred Qualifications:
• 3+ years of experience in the full software development lifecycle (coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations).
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent.
